Why checking first helps
Upload errors are usually vague. Knowing the real numbers turns 'file too large' into something you can act on: 3.4 MB against a 500 KB cap, or 4032 pixels wide against a 1200 limit.
It also stops you from compressing an image that was never the problem, when the form was actually refusing the format.
How the checker works
Your browser opens the file locally and reads its details. Nothing is sent to Filnixa, so there is no wait for an upload.
Enter any limits you were given and each rule gets its own line: pass, or a plain sentence saying what is over and by how much.
If something fails, the fix step is one click away and the result is checked again against the same rules.
